Focused Shockwave Therapy

Focused extracorporeal shockwave therapy (ESWT) treatment involves applying energy to tendons, when they have developed structural changes, often referred to/diagnosed as tendonitis or tendinopathy. The shockwaves disrupt the altered tendon structure, resulting in pain relief and encouraging the tendon to remodel with a normal structure.

Radial vs Focus Shockwave Therapy – What is the difference?

Radial pressure wave is the most common type of shockwave therapy, used in most MSK clinics. However, focused is growing in popularity, due to the increased treatment options, treatment depth, treatment precision and patient comfort in more acute cases.
